Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a PRN/Flexi Clinical Pharmacist Intern for the Inpatient Pharmacy. The role involves supporting drug distribution, preparing meds, and ensuring safe, cost-effective therapy under supervision.

You will provide drug information, review orders, and contribute to sterile compounding in the IV room. Remote project work is possible after onsite training, with rotating shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• Active or eligible Virginia state Pharmacy Intern license or recent pharmacy graduate.
• Must obtain Virginia/North Carolina license within 90 days of start date.

City/State Norfolk, VA Work Shift Rotating Overview: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a PRN/Flexi Clinical Pharmacist Intern for the Inpatient Pharmacy in Norfolk, VA. Location: Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, VA Status: Flexi/PRN Shift: Rotating (10 hour Weekend Shifts) Hours: 6am-11pm (occasional overnights) Weekends: One Weekend a Month The Clinical Pharmacist Intern is responsible for managing the drug distribution system and providing technical support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient-focused, and cost-efficient drug therapy. Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. Manages patient drug therapy in accordance with the medical staff-approved clinical practice standards under the direction of a pharmacist. Serves as the primary resource for drug information within the hospital and assures the appropriateness of all physician medication orders under the direction of a pharmacist. Remote project work once fully trained onsite in IV room with sterile compounding.

Education

Will consider pharmacy students with an active intern license or new graduated pharmacists eligible to obtain Virginia state Pharmacy Intern license.

Certification/Licensure

Must have Virginia or North Carolina (applicable to location) license within 90 days of Sentara start date.

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $20.00 - $20.00 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
