Job summary

System Support in Troy, Ohio is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to assist in medication processes under the supervision of pharmacy professionals. This role requires enrollment in a pharmacy college and registration as a pharmacy intern with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to compute ratios and percentages, and work well in a team. Prior experience in any pharmacy setting is preferred but not necessary.

Qualifications

Job description

Pharmacy Intern

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Managers, Team Leaders, and Pharmacists and according to standard procedures, upon receiving physician orders, assists in the preparation, distribution, and documentation of medication processes within the health care system.

Qualifications
  • Education: Must be enrolled in a college of pharmacy
  • Licensure: Registered as a pharmacy intern with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy
  • Certification: N/A
  • Experience: Prior hospital, long‑term care or retail experience preferred (not required)
Skills
  • Possess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem‑solving skills
  • Able to read and write printed material in English
  • Proficiency with computer keyboard operations
  • Ability to compute simple algebraic ratios, volume/volume percentage and weight/volume percentage
  • Possess ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as team member
  • Flexibility in scheduling essential as mentor/trainer of new coworkers
