Job summary

Memorial Health in Marysville, OH, seeks a Pharmacy Intern to assist pharmacists in drug preparation, labeling, compounding, and repackaging, while maintaining patient profiles and documenting all steps in the pharmacy system.

You will support intravenous admixtures and sterile products under supervision, help manage stock, and ensure proper billing and records. A high school diploma and current Ohio intern license are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school education or equivalent and current licensure with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern.
• Demonstrates effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists pharmacist in preparing drugs for dispensing (e.g. appropriate product selection, labeling, compounding, and repackaging with completion of appropriate records, etc.).
• Maintains an accurate computer profile for each patient receiving medications within the institution according to department and hospital policies and procedures.
• Prepares drugs for automated dispensing to be checked by a pharmacist, restocks automated dispensing equipment, assists with monitoring automated dispensing equipment and maintaining this equipment in good working order.
• Prepares intravenous admixtures and other sterile products including parenteral nutrition solutions, chemotherapy, and irrigation solutions under the direction and supervision of a pharmacist.
• Assists with management of drug stock (e.g. shelves new drug stock with proper rotation of items, arranges stock and organizes storage areas, documents for ordering items, etc.).
• Ensures drugs items are appropriately billed to various areas or patients through appropriate written documentation and/or computerized entry.

What You'll Bring/Requirements:

• Completion of high school education, or equivalent, and current licensure with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern. Demonstrates effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to relate to other people and work well in a group environment

Must maintain licensure by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern; American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support recommended.
