Job summary

Hunterdon Health seeks a Pharmacy Information Systems Liaison to lead the implementation of the Pharmacy IS in collaboration with clinical teams. You will coordinate file building, testing, issue tracking, and go-live activities, while ensuring system security and user support.

As a liaison between Pharmacy and the Information Services Department, you will translate clinical needs into IT solutions and document workflows to support safe, efficient medication management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IS or related field.
• Current license in area of Clinical Practice.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and recognizes the needs of the Pharmacy Department and uses technology and/or automation to meet those needs
• Responds to IS Leadership, Pharmacy, Medical Staff, and Nursing requests to adjust the computer system per change management procedures
• Maintains accurate formulary with clinical Pharmacy staff
• Builds clinical rules and alerts into the Pharmacy system
• Sets formulary defaults to be compliant with Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee standards
• Integrates technology into clinical practice workflow with Pharmacy management
• Develops and maintains manuals and FAQ files for the Pharmacy information systems

Position Summary

This individual is responsible for managing the implementation of the Pharmacy Information Systems in conjunction with other clinical disciplines involved in the project. This includes file building, coordinating testing, tracking all issues as it relates to the pharmacy information system, monitoring and managing application system support. Works closely with vendors, establishes systems and application security as needed, provides user support, and coordinates go-live activities as it relates to the pharmacy department. Serves as a liaison between the Pharmacy and the Information Services Department.

Primary Position Responsibilities

1. Identifies and recognizes the needs of the Pharmacy Department and uses technology and/or automation to meet those needs
2. Responds to the requests of IS Leadership, Pharmacy, Medical Staff, and/or Nursing Departments to make adjustments to the computer system following change management procedures in a timely manner
3. Maintains accurate formulary in conjunction with clinical Pharmacy staff.
4. Builds clinical rules and alerts into the Pharmacy system that meets best practices and standards
5. Sets formulary defaults to be in compliance with established standards and rulings of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
6. Utilizes knowledge of clinical practice to integrate technology into clinical practice workflow. Analyzes the impact of information technology on clinical work practice, working closely with Pharmacy management and staff.
7. Develops and maintains written manuals and FAQ files that clearly outline the functions of the Pharmacy information systems
