Job summary

Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC, seeks a Pharmacy Informatics Supervisor to oversee medication-use technologies and clinical information systems, driving safety, efficiency, and compliance across the hospital.

You will lead automation initiatives, partner with interdisciplinary teams, and advance informatics aligned with institutional goals and regulatory requirements, reporting to the Director of Pharmacy Services.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
• Licensed or eligible for DC pharmacist registration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee workflow analysis for pharmacy and medication-use information systems.
• Lead build, implementation, and maintenance of automation to optimize pharmacy practice.
• Evaluate new automation and tech solutions to enhance workflow and safety.
• Analyze data to support clinical and operational decision-making.
• Lead change management for IS standardization initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Medication Safety Officer to improve patient safety and compliance.
• Coordinate with IT teams to optimize hardware, software and interfaces.
• Develop education for pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and others on EHR and workflows.
