Responsibilities

• Process new patient registrations in the Pioneer system.
• Enter refill orders and handle prescription requests.
• Resolve third-party rejects and resubmit per plan requirements.
• Operate automated machinery to sort and package medications.
• Count, label, and ship prescriptions; maintain cleanliness.
• Maintain equipment and keep the workspace orderly.
• Assist Pharmacists by identifying issues and informing senior staff.
• Follow SelectRx policies and confidentiality standards.
• Support the Pharmacist-in-Charge with related tasks.

About The Role

The Pharmacy Fulfillment Technician (PFT) is responsible for adhering to state and federal regulations in the performance of pharmacy-related data entry and patient registration activities. This position is responsible for the resolution of third-party rejects and responding to high-volume customer inquiries working under direct supervision. This position follows standard operating procedures and performs duties in accordance with SelectRx policies and procedures. The Pharmacy Fulfillment Technician is also responsible for using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and running automated machinery required to pre-sort and package medications in support of the fulfillment site production process.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Processes new patient registration by entering data into the Pioneer system
• Handles patient prescription requests within HIPAA guidelines and enter refill orders for processing
• Troubleshoots to obtain missing prescription information and interprets medical abbreviations (SIG codes)
• Resolves all data entry-related exceptions
• Runs automated machinery, sort medications, and transition inventory through different workflow stages, with a focus on quality control
• Counts and fills prescriptions, affix labels, pack and ship
• Cleans and helps maintain machinery and keep the work area orderly
• Resolves Third Party Rejects by reviewing, gathering information, making corrections, and resubmitting for processing according to individual plan requirements
• Provides assistance to Pharmacists by identifying and communicating issues to senior-level staff as appropriate
• Performs duties and responsibilities according to the philosophy and standards of SelectRx including conveying courtesy, respect, enthusiasm, and positive attitudes in work situations with clients, peers, and visitors
• Maintains client and associate confidentiality
• Responsible for understanding all the applicable policies and procedures of the department necessary to perform essential job functions as well as the associate handbook
• The position may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those stated in this description as directed by the Pharmacist-in-Charge
• Adheres to SelectRx's prescription data entry procedures and guidelines
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Skills/Abilities

• Basic level PC skills including:

• Intermediate level keyboarding typing skills at least 35 words per minute

Education And Experience

• 1 year experience in retail pharmacy, fulfillment or call center environment as a Pharmacy Technician preferred

Certificates/Licenses/Registration

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred (PTCB or NHA)
• Associates assigned to the Indianapolis IN Facility: Indiana State Pharmacy Technician license or active Tech in Training license required

Physical Requirements

• The role requires:
  • At least 8 hours of standing and walking throughout the workday
  • Frequent movement between workstations and production areas
  • Reoccurring bending stooping reaching and climbing stairs or ladders
  • Use of hands and arms for handling operating or monitoring equipment
  • Ability to move position or transport materials or products weighing up to 15 pounds with or without assistance
  • Extended periods of continuous standing at a computer or workstation
  • A high level of physical activity and stamina consistent with a production-floor environment.
