Job summary

Polaris Pharmacy Services of Ft Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Pharmacy Fill Technician to accurately prepare prescriptions, label, scan, and finalize orders for pharmacist verification. You will help maintain an organized workspace and ensure regulatory compliance.

Schedule: 9:00pm to 5:30am with alternating weekends. The role requires adherence to HIPAA, safety standards, and the ability to work across shifts, with opportunities for growth within a locally owned pharmacy network.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of brand name and generic medications.

Responsibilities

• Pull/pick medications from shelving and storage areas (pre-pack racks).
• Accuracy check of final preparation before presenting to the pharmacist.
• Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under supervision.
• Process returned drugs and follow disposal procedures.
• Pre-pack frequently ordered medications; label and stock during low-volume times.
• Package materials and products manually.
• Follow HIPAA and all applicable regulations.
• Maintain clean/workstation and replenish stock each shift.
• Notify pharmacist on duty of scanning issues.
• Adhere to safety, attendance, and dress code; overtime may be required.
• Other duties as assigned; may vary with business needs.

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Fill Technician accurately prepares prescriptions, including the careful picking, labeling, scanning, and final preparation of prescriptions for the pharmacist's verification. Additionally, they assist in maintaining a well-organized workspace and ensure compliance with regulations.

SCHEDULE: 9:00pm - 5:30am with alternating weekends

Please note, because we are a pharmacy most of our locations are open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week and therefore schedules may change as determined by the needs of the business.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Pull/pick medications from shelving and other medication storage areas (pre-pack racks)
• Accuracy check of final preparation before presenting to the pharmacist
• Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently and in a timely and prioritized manner, under the supervision of a pharmacist
• Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose per procedure
• Assist in pre-packing frequently ordered medications; label and stock as needed during low-volume times
• Package materials and products manually
• Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA
• Maintain clean/organized workstation areas and replenish all stock supplies needed each shift
• Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properly
• Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code
• Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required and/or expected
• Other duties as assigned; Job duties may vary depending on business needs

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations and state of practice.
• Previous pharmacy experience preferred (one or more years of long-term care experience preferred)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day
• The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend, walk
• May be necessary to work extended hours as needed
• May lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
