Polaris Pharmacy Services in Des Plaines, IL, is seeking a Pharmacy Fill Technician to accurately prepare prescriptions, label, scan, and finalize for pharmacist verification, while keeping a clean, compliant workspace.

You will work under a pharmacist, handle daily duties, maintain stock, follow HIPAA, and support 24/7 operations across locations. High school diploma and pharmacy tech license required; LTC setting experience preferred.

• Previous pharmacy experience preferred, especially long-term care.

Responsabilidades

• Pull meds from shelves and storage areas for prescriptions.
• Accurately check final preparation before pharmacist verification.
• Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under supervision.
• Assist in processing returned drugs and recycling as per procedure.
• Pre-pack and label frequently ordered meds; stock as needed.
• Package materials and products manually.
• Follow HIPAA and all regulatory requirements.
• Keep workstation clean and stocked; report scanning issues.
• Adhere to safety, attendance, and dress code policies.
• Overtime/holiday/weekend work may be required.

Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Fill Technician accurately prepares prescriptions, including the careful picking, labeling, scanning, and final preparation of prescriptions for the pharmacist's verification. Additionally, they assist in maintaining a well-organized workspace and ensure compliance with regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Pull/pick medications from shelving and other medication storage areas (pre-pack racks)
• Accuracy check of final preparation before presenting to the pharmacist
• Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently and in a timely and prioritized manner, under the supervision of a pharmacist
• Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose per procedure
• Assist in pre-packing frequently ordered medications; label and stock as needed during low-volume times
• Package materials and products manually
• Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA
• Maintain clean/organized workstation areas and replenish all stock supplies needed each shift
• Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properly
• Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code
• Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required and/or expected
• Other duties as assigned; Job duties may vary depending on business needs

QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations and state of practice.
• Previous pharmacy experience preferred (one or more years of long-term care experience preferred)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day
• The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend, walk
• May be necessary to work extended hours as needed
• May lift and/or move up to 30 pounds

HOLIDAY & PTO POLICY

• Paid holidays are provided annually, with 6 days offered each year, along with 5 sick days.

Please note, because we are a pharmacy most of our locations are open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week and therefore schedules may change as determined by the needs of the business.
