Summary:

In this role, you will manage a high-profile portfolio of full-line and specialty/plasma pharmacy distribution service agreements and develop and manage relationships with distributors. You will heavily interact with providers and colleagues by sharing insights and guidance for complex distribution sourcing strategies. You will oversee and manage performance for a large portfolio of non-injectable generic pharmaceutical products. You will also create and maintain collaborative relationships with internal data, analytics, sourcing, implementation, and sales teams, in order to advance strategic programs and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead pharmacy distribution sourcing processes for national, regional, non-acute, full-line, and specialty/plasma distribution categories, including opportunity identification, strategy formulation, contract development, negotiation, and implementation.
  • Develop, foster, and maintain robust relationships with contracted pharmacy distributor national accounts, contract administration, and inventory operations teams.
  • Monitor contract performance and adherence to terms and conditions, with special emphasis in the areas of national and distribution center-level product stocking, ordering, fill rates, deliveries, and customer service.
  • Oversee and ensure consistent coverage and value for non-injectable generic product portfolios.
  • Conduct periodic in-person business reviews and strategic planning meetings.
  • Serve as a pharmacy distribution category expert resource for provider pharmacies and colleagues.
  • Review contract enhancements and negotiate on behalf of provider pharmacies.
  • Interpret financial analyses and market insights to formulate budgets and scenario impact assessments.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of relevant regulations and market trends.
  • Communicate successes, opportunities and challenges to colleagues and provider stakeholders.
  • Create resources to assist in contract implementation and education.
  • Engage and provide direction to assigned portfolio analyst.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.
  • 4 or more years of relevant experience working in detailed, strategic contracting required.
  • Experience with national full-line and specialty/plasma pharmacy distribution contracts, whether at a distributor or within a pharmacy, highly preferred.
  • Ability to understand and conduct strategic contract negotiations, including complex terms and conditions between pharmacies and distributors, highly desired.
  • Experience with relationship building, project management, conflict resolution, and strategic partnership development required.
  • Exceptional communication, customer service, and cross-functional interaction skills, including presentation, verbal, and documentation.
  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $88,900.00 to $146,700.00. This position is also incentive eligible.
