Responsible for the Pharmacy Department's operational excellence: assures department delivers quality services in accordance with the Medical Center's mission and with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards. Manages human resources to assure quality services and promote positive employee relations. Effectively communicates departmental, organizational, and industry information to staff. Responsible for the fiscal management of department and assures proper utilization of organization's financial resources. Supports and exemplifies the hospital's established mission, vision, and values.
The Director is responsible for coordinating all activities and services provided by the Pharmacy Department. These activities and services involve the procurement, storage, preparation, distribution, compounding, monitoring, control and dispensing of medications and supplies from the department. The individual serves as a liaison to facility nursing and the medical staff personnel. Provides a leadership role in formulating policy and instituting models that enhance the clinical and operational components of pharmacy services for BMC South.
