PharMerica, part of Brightspring Health Services, is seeking a Pharmacy Director in Christiansburg, VA. The role leads day-to-day pharmacy operations, drives cost containment, ensures regulatory compliance, and builds high-performing teams across locations.

Requires bachelor's degree; MBA or PharmD preferred; strong leadership and financial acumen; LTC experience preferred. Schedule Monday–Friday 8am–5pm; salary range $155,000-$175,000 per year; benefits include health, dental, vision, 401k,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• MBA and PharmD are desired.
• Management/supervisory experience in pharmacy/healthcare is required.
• P&L responsibility and LTC experience are desired.
• Computer skills are required.
• Knowledge of pharmacy regulations and LTC pharmacy is desired.
• Performance management is desired.
• Able to lead change and ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

• Controls pharmacy costs to meet or exceed budgeted cost per script.
• Provides the leadership and direction to build an effective team and continually develop associates to improve performance.
• Maintains positive customer relationships; attends quarterly business reviews.
• Works with Client Services and Sales team to effectively communicate with customers (DONs, Administrators, Staff RNs) and resolve customer issues.
• Implements, maintains and reports on core processes.
• Ensures pharmacy compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Emphasizes dispensing efficiency and accuracy with the workforce, and manages the dispensing process to exceed the Company’s goal.
• Manages the staffing and scheduling process to optimize production and contain labor costs.
• Manages pharmacy personnel issues including hiring, evaluations, discipline and separation, and monitors and approves payroll.
• Manages physical inventory to meet client requirements and Company goals.
• Implements Company, Region and District policies, processes and initiatives.
• Provides timely and accurate reports as required.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
• Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.

The Pharmacy Director is responsible for directing workforce in the day-to-day operations of pharmacy or multiple locations and managing costs to established goals. Must have working knowledge of Pharmacy operations, preferably in Long-Term Care.

This is not a remote position. Applicants must reside in, or a commutable distance to, Christiansburg, VA
