Job summary

AbsoluteCare Medical Center & Pharmacy in New Orleans, LA seeks a delivery driver to support the pharmacy and care teams by delivering medications to members in a timely, secure, and compliant manner.

You will work with pharmacy staff to ensure meds are ready for delivery, maintain logs, and uphold patient confidentiality while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory motor vehicle record and reliable transportation required.
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle insurance required.
• Basic computer skills including scheduling tools (Outlook).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Experience delivering medications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver medications to patients promptly and securely.
• Coordinate with pharmacy staff to depart on time for deliveries.
• Maintain delivery log and verify recipient identity as needed.
• Report status and issues to pharmacy management.
• Protect patient confidentiality and provide courteous service.

Job description

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (30-minute lunch)

Compensation: $15.00 per hour guaranteed base pay, plus $5.00 for every completed delivery and mileage reimbursement.

Important: This position requires the use of your own personal vehicle for deliveries. Compensation includes a guaranteed base rate of $15.00 per hour, an additional $5.00 commission per completed delivery, and mileage reimbursement.

This is a W-2 employee position, not an independent contractor or 1099 role. Eligible employees receive benefits and 401(k) participation.

Job Summary

This role works with our Pharmacy Team as well as our Care Teams to ensure all members receive their medications. This role will also be responsible to make deliveries to members who have not received their medications timely.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with pharmacy staff to ensure that deliveries leave the pharmacy at the appropriate time and delivered to the designated location requested.
• Transport and deliver medication to patients in a safe and secure manner to prevent damage, spoilage, or loss.
• Maintain delivery log of activities per policy and procedure, which may include checking and/or logging recipient identification.
• Report status and any problems to pharmacy management.
• Ensure patient confidentiality.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask and work under limited supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

• Satisfactory motor vehicle record.
• Must have reliable, legal (registered and insured as required by your state law) transportation.
• Maintain valid driver's license and personal vehicle insurance.
• Basic computer skills including competency with Microsoft Outlook or similar scheduling tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable driving in all weather conditions during day or night hours.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Prior delivery driving experience a plus.
