Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Operations
- Provides customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
- Recommends items for sale to customers and suggests trade-up or complementary products.
- Registers customer purchases on the assigned cash register, collects cash, and distributes change as requested; processes voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed. Assists customers in locating products in the OTC aisle when possible.
- Keeps counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, takes inventory, and maintains records. Checks in and prices merchandise as required or as directed by the store manager or shift leader.
- Performs duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including entering patient and drug information into pharmacy systems, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions. Assists pharmacists in scheduling and workflow management.
- Immediately reports prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adheres to company policies regarding pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program. Complies with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
- Strictly follows the policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all prescription activities.
- Handles telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention, including calls to physicians.
- Processes manual claims for third-party prescription services in a timely manner and performs other clerical duties as assigned.
- Supports pharmacy inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques and files claims for overages, shortages, and damaged goods involving Rx drugs.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products such as alcohol and tobacco.
- Builds and maintains displays, including promotional and seasonal displays, and completes resets as directed.
- Assists with food product separation and placement according to policies, and manages stock rotation using FIFO method.
- Maintains knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Provides customer service in the photo area, including passport photos, poster printing, and promotional products.
- Handles web order pickups and deliveries.
- Ensures the store is clean, neat, and orderly, assisting with maintenance tasks.
- Follows all company policies and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Completes assigned special tasks and other duties as needed.
Training & Personal Development
- Earns and maintains PTCB certification and/or state registration, attending required training and continuing education.
- Keeps updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
Additional requirements:
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
