Job summary

JobRx, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Coordinator to oversee clinical, compounding, operational, and regulatory processes in a defined practice setting.

The role may include direct reports and collaboration with other pharmacy leaders to optimize care quality and efficiency. The position requires a PharmD and at least 3 years of pharmacy practice, with preferred PGY1/PGY2 residencies and an active license in North Carolina or eligibility to obtain it within two months.

Qualifications

  • Requires PharmD.
  • 3 years of pharmacy practice experience.
  • Active license to practice pharmacy in North Carolina or eligible to obtain license within two months of hire.
  • BLS (CPR) certification (American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider).

Responsibilities

  • Supervises professional and technical pharmacy staff including scheduling and monitoring work quality.
  • Performs quality control checks to ensure accuracy and staff competency.
  • Monitors patient drug regimens and serum drug levels for clinical appropriateness.
  • Verifies dose appropriateness based on clinical goals.
  • Monitors and evaluates adverse drug reactions and pharmacist interventions.
  • Coordinates clinical pharmacy activities with physicians, nurses, and other personnel.
  • Teaches pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and others in monitoring drug therapy.
  • Coordinates pharmacy record keeping, auditing, and drug control policies per law.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Pharmacists

The Pharmacy Coordinator oversees clinical, compounding, operational, and regulatory processes to provide care for an individual clinical pharmacy. This role may have a team of direct reports working in a defined practice setting. The Pharmacy Coordinator worked with other pharmacy leaders to evaluate the pharmacy processes and is responsible for optimizing them to improve the quality and efficiency of patient care.

Essential Job Function
  • Supervises the work of professional and technical pharmacy staff; scheduling, assigning, directing, and monitoring the quality and quantity of work performed.
  • Performs quality control checks to ensure that the work of pharmacy team members is both accurate and appropriate and that staff are fully competent to perform their duties.
  • Monitors the use and administration of patients' drug regimens and the appropriateness of serum drug levels.
  • Verifies dose appropriateness based on clinical goals and expectations.
  • Monitors and evaluates adverse drug reactions and pharmacist interventions.
  • Coordinates clinical pharmacy activities with physician, nursing, laboratory, and other personnel, developing and assisting in the implementation of clinical pathways and therapeutic guidelines.
  • Teaches and instructs pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and others regarding the technical skills used in monitoring drug therapy.
  • Coordinates pharmacy record keeping, auditing, and other drug control policies, procedures and activities as required by County, State, and Federal law.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Education
  • Required: PharmD.
  • Preferred: PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency.
Experience
  • Required: 3 years of pharmacy practice experience.
Licensure/Certification/Listing
  • Required: Active license to practice pharmacy in North Carolina or eligible to obtain pharmacy license within two (2) months of hire; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
