Job summary

Concord Hospital in New Hampshire seeks a Compounding Specialist to perform sterile and nonsterile compounding, including hazardous materials, following USP guidelines. You will work under supervision but perform complex tasks and support patient care units.

Candidates must be a certified Pharmacy Technician, NH registration, high school diploma, and be able to train junior technicians; hospital experience preferred. This role offers growth and exposure to pharmacy automation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
  • NH registration as Pharmacy Technician required.
  • 1 year hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous products per USP guidelines.
  • Completes administrative tasks for pharmacy operations, IV room, and automation.
  • Stocks, maintains, and troubleshoots automated dispensing machines (ADMs) and other pharmacy automation.
  • Maintains competency and performs duties of a Pharmacy Technician 2.
  • Assists with training and mentoring Pharmacy Technician 1 and 2 staff.
  • Completes hands-on and didactic training as required by applicable regulatory bodies.
  • Performs other projects or duties as assigned.

Job description

Summary

Under the direction of the Compounding Quality Supervisor, Pharmacy Leadership, and pharmacists, the Compounding Specialist is responsible for sterile and nonsterile preparation compounding as well as hazardous sterile and nonsterile compounding. Demonstrates competency and technical proficiency in all applicable USP chapters. This role requires independent performance of complex technical tasks and the ability to serve as a resource for less experienced technicians. In addition, the Compounding Specialist must possess competency in preparing, dispensing, and delivering medications to patient care units, physician offices, and clinics.

Education

High school or equivalent required. Certified as Technician through an accredited program required.

Certification, Registration & Licensure

Registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of NH is required

CPhT certification is required.

Experience

1 year of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
