Job summary

CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, NJ seeks a Clinical Director of Pharmacy to lead the Pharmacy Department, directing operations, staffing, budgeting, and collaboration with medical staff to achieve patient-centered outcomes.

The role requires PharmD or advanced degree, 5+ years in hospital pharmacy, and 2+ years in management, with NJ licensure. The position emphasizes regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and strategic alignment with organizational goals.

Qualifications

• PharmD or advanced pharmacy degree required.
• Minimum five years of experience in hospital pharmacy.
• Minimum two years of experience in hospital management.
• Active NJ Pharmacist license required.
• Board Certification (BCPS, BCACP, BCCCP, or equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and monitors PI, quality assurance, and quality control plans for pharmacy services.
• Directs programs, operations, and activities of the Pharmacy Department.
• Leads change management to enhance operations, safety, and outcomes.
• Evaluates quality and patient outcomes using performance indicators.
• Oversees staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Recruits, mentors, and evaluates pharmacy leaders and staff.
• Fosters an inclusive, engaged work environment and retention.
• Identifies opportunities for cost containment and revenue enhancement.
• Oversees purchasing, contracts, inventory, and vendor relationships.
• Aligns departmental goals with organizational mission and priorities.
• Ensures regulatory compliance with NJ Board of Pharmacy, Joint Commission, CMS, USP 797/800.
• Maintains readiness through audits, training, and best practices.
• Collaborates with physicians and nursing leadership to optimize medication management.
• Evaluates emerging technologies and innovations to improve care.
• Provides leadership for emergency preparedness and continuity planning.
• Represents the department on committees and leadership teams.
