Job summary

Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking a Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator to lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical pharmacy services across the hospital. You will partner with care teams to advance safety, formulary, and medication-use initiatives while ensuring regulatory and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

  • PharmD required.
  • PGY-1 Residency or equivalent hospital experience.
  • 3–5 years of direct clinical hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Active DC pharmacist license or reciprocity eligibility.
  • Experience in interdisciplinary rounds and direct patient care.
  • Mentorship or supervision of pharmacists, students, or residents.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the hospital-wide medication safety program.
  • Develop safety alerts, newsletters, and staff communications.
  • Chair or co-chair Medication Safety Committee.
  • Collaborate with IT and nursing informatics on safe technology use.
  • Support formulary management and P&T activities.
  • Analyze medication-use data and develop dashboards.
  • Educate staff on medication safety and precept students.
