St. Tammany Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Clerk to greet customers, process transactions, balance the register, and maintain neat and organized pharmacy areas.
The role supports receiving merchandise, assisting with OTC inventory, and merchandising displays with regular updates to ensure clean, inviting shelves and accurate pricing.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
Monday-Friday: 8 am - 6 pm
Saturday: 9 am - 3 pm
Sunday: 9 am - 1 pm
The Pharmacy Clerk is responsible for greeting and assisting customers, completing transactions using various forms of payment, balancing the register, bagging purchased items, processing returns or exchanges, and maintaining pharmacy neatness and cleanliness. Clerk must have a good understanding of Point-of-Sale system. Clerk may help with receiving merchandise and assist with the management of all over-the-counter inventory. Helps in merchandizing products and making sure displays are refreshed on a regular basis. Clerk will assist with other duties as assigned.
Must be at least 18 years of age. High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be able to operate a point-of-sale computer system. Skill in displaying merchandise required. Must be able to work with minimal direct supervision. Experience in the pharmacy industry or cashier experience preferred. This role requires excellent customer service skills, good verbal communication skills, basic mathematical skills, and knowledge about products and services available.
Must have a valid and current state issued driver's license. Must maintain and provide proof of automobile insurance (at his/her own expense) in amounts which meet at least the minimum liability coverage limits required by the state of their residence. Clearance of driving record check; Driving records shall not contain any of the following: a suspended or revoked driver's license, 3 or more moving violations in the past 36 months, 2 or more accidents in the past 36 months, 1 or more instances of driving under the influence (DUI) or driving while intoxicated (DWI) within the past 24 months, at fault in a fatal accident within the past 5 years, leaving the scene of an accident within the past 36 months, and/or reckless driving within the past 12 months.
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required.
