Job summary

Brookshire Brothers is seeking a Pharmacy Clerk to assist the pharmacist and pharmacy technician by handling prescriptions from customers when appropriate, and to operate the register for sale of medications.

You will greet customers, maintain professional appearance, help with OTC purchases, stock shelves, handle sales, and maintain confidentiality of pharmacy records while supporting store operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service in a retail pharmacy environment is preferred.
• Must have acceptable training as determined by the Pharmacy Manager and/or District Director.
• Ability to operate a cash register and handle sales transactions with customers.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, courteous service at all times.
• Assist customers with the purchase of over-the-counter drugs.
• Order stock and stock shelves as needed.
• Handle sales transactions at the register.
• Maintain confidentiality of pharmacy and customer records per policy.
• Assist in other store operations such as answering phones and accepting prescriptions.

A Pharmacy Clerk is responsible for assisting the pharmacist and the pharmacy technician in physically taking prescriptions from the customer when legally and professionally advisable. The Pharmacy Clerk is responsible for operating a register for the sale of prescribed and over the counter drugs.

• Assist in various other activities as directed by the general operation of the store as needed, such as answering the telephone, taking prescriptions from customers, etc.
