Job summary

Walgreens in California is seeking a customer service associate to greet customers, ring up purchases, and assist with OTC products while delivering courteous, efficient checkout service. You will maintain clean counters and shelves, help locate items, participate in merchandising, and follow store policies to protect assets and ensure accurate transactions.

This role also involves using store systems and supporting maintenance and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.
• Preferred six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Preferred to have prior work experience with Walgreens.

Responsibilities

• Registers customer purchases on assigned cash register, collects cash and provides courteous checkout service.
• Recommends items and assists with OTC products, guiding customers to aisles when possible.
• Operates pharmacy systems to obtain patient prescription status and reports errors to pharmacist on duty.
• Keeps counters and shelves clean and well merchandised; checks in and prices merchandise as directed.
• Implements asset protection procedures to minimize profit loss and ensures compliance with laws on regulated products.
• Constructs and maintains displays and completes resets as directed; maintains store appearance.
• Has working knowledge of store systems and equipment and assists with maintenance.
• Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
