The Clinical Engagement Services Center team provides a variety of clinical services, such as: Adherence, Diabetes, Fraud Waste & Abuse, Medication Therapy Management, PolyPharmacy, Retrospective Drug Utilization, and STARS adherence.

The team comprises clinical pharmacists, clinical nurses, certified pharmacy technicians, and customer service representatives that complete various functions to meet operational requirements.

The Pharmacy Care Coordinator will report to the Operations Team Manager. This role involves working in a call center environment, making outbound calls to engage members for pharmacist consultations. Additionally, the role involves working in a matrix team environment to complete daily operational tasks supporting the Clinical Engagement Services Center.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Schedule pharmacist consultation appointments with members participating in clinical programs supported by the Clinical Engagement Services Center.
  • Prioritize the privacy and confidentiality of patient medical information, adhering to HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
  • Document provider feedback in the clinical database.
  • Manage incoming fax queues to ensure provider feedback is captured.
  • Report PHI-related incidents promptly, in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
  • Document and store returned mail following standard operating procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service during inbound and outbound calls.
  • Perform miscellaneous functions essential to the department's operations.
  • Participate in department meetings to improve processes and increase workflow efficiency.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing for projects affecting the Clinical Engagement Services Center.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Operations Team Manager.

Required Qualifications
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in your state of residence.
  • At least 1 year of experience working remotely/independently within a cross-functional team, with strong organizational skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to navigate multiple platforms and databases efficiently.
  • Flexible schedule with rotating shifts between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm CST, Monday through Friday.
  • Experience working as a contractor at UHG or its subsidiaries.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current pharmacy technician license in your state.
  • Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
  • Over 1 year of pharmacy-related experience, including retail pharmacy.
  • Experience in a call center environment handling inbound/outbound calls.
  • Experience with Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM).
  • Bilingual in medical terminology (e.g., Cantonese, Korean, Mandarin, Russian, Spanish, Vietnamese).

  • Ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with empathy and active listening.
  • Clear telephonic communication skills, capable of engaging with seniors and healthcare professionals.
  • Effective at managing multiple initiatives and tailoring discussions to patient concerns.
  • Proficient in Excel navigation and multitasking.
  • Strong conflict management skills.
  • Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Adherence to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.

Pay is based on various factors including location, education, experience, and certifications. Benefits include a comprehensive package, incentives, stock purchase options, and 401k contributions, subject to eligibility. The hourly rate ranges from $17.74 to $31.63 based on full-time employment. We comply with all applicable wage laws.
