Job summary

CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs, part of CommonSpirit Health, seeks a Pharmacy Automation Coordinator to lead the ADC segment of the medication distribution system. You will manage controlled substance inventory, investigate discrepancies, and serve as the primary liaison between nursing and the ADC vendor for problem solving.

You will ensure accurate ADC operation, compliance, and collaboration with nursing and vendors, contributing to continuous quality improvement and safe patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required at hire.
• Two years of recent hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Pharmacy Technician certification with AR licensure required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee controlled substance inventory and monitor usage daily.
• Act as liaison between Nursing, Pharmacy and ADC vendor for problem solving.
• Generate ADC compare reports and maintain storage records for CII and ADC.
• Maintain accurate inventory of all controlled substances.
• Process and ensure compliant dispensing to internal and external departments.
• Manage and troubleshoot ADC stations including security and system upgrades.

*Job Summary and Responsibilities*

As our Pharmacy Automation Coordinator, you will serve as the pharmacy team leader for the automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) segment of our medication distribution system.

Every day you will be responsible for controlled substance inventory, monitoring usage, investigating and following up on all discrepancies, and serving as the primary liaison between the ADC vendor and Nursing for problem solving.

To be successful in this role, you will expertly manage the ADC system and controlled substance protocols, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and seamless collaboration with nursing and vendors, while actively contributing to continuous quality improvement.

• Monitors activities of all the controlled substances; documents, follows up and alerts Manager/Director on all discrepancies.
• Serves as liaison between Nursing and Pharmacy for problem solving; communicates with Manager/Director regularly concerning issues/problems.
• Produces ADC compare reports; reviews and follows up on all defined reports associated with ADC and the CII safe; maintains storage records.
• Coordinates and maintains an accurate inventory of all controlled substances.
• Processes and ensures compliant sales to all internal and external departments, including retail, home health/hospice, off-site locations, medical clinics if applicable and other areas
• Manages and troubleshoots all ADC stations to include security and communication of system changes and upgrades.
