Summary

SUMMARY: SUMMARY: The Pharmacy Automation Analyst is responsible to participate in the planning, development, education, implementation, evaluation, maintenance, optimization, and support of assigned clinical analytic systems across the pharmacy enterprise. Under the direction of the Inpatient Pharmacy & Automation Coordinator this position will develop an understanding of the application functionality, reporting capabilities, interfacing and integration associated with clinical applications assigned. The Pharmacy Automation Analyst functions as a leader for assigned applications and is accountable for the ongoing optimization of the applications, while understanding how to effectively delegate certain tasks to the Automated Dispensing Cabinet.

Pharmacy Technician III. The position utilizes clinical knowledge and professional judgment to ensure that hospital systems, automation technology, and procedures are up to date and maintained as described by departmental and institutional policies as well as by regulatory bodies. The position requires coordinating quality services, with clinical services of the pharmacy department, in efforts to integrate, implement, and develop information technology procedures, policies, and protocols. The Pharmacy Automation Analyst is responsible for meeting with other hospital departments to assist with decision support analysis as well as the creation and maintenance of the pharmacy technology plan.

Experience

5 years of experience in healthcare, computer science or related field and 2 years of experience working with pharmacy automation.

Special Skills

Working knowledge of PC computer software and skill in basic operations of Windows-based software. Strong background in robotics or information technology

License/Cert

Required: BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association), MO licensure for Pharmacy Technician, PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board)
