Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is hiring for a part-time Pharmacy Clerk in California. Under supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will handle in-person and phone reception, process prescriptions, label and package medications, and support clerical tasks in the pharmacy.

The role requires strong customer service, English communication skills, and the ability to manage cash handling and daily deposits. Hospital/clinic setting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Upholds Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities and applicable laws.
• Provides in-person and telephone reception to patients.
• Receives new prescriptions and refills ensuring correct entry/documentation.
• Verifies prescription details and notes potential substitutions.
• Enters required information into the pharmacy system (PIMS).
• Processes refill authorization requests and communicates with providers.
• Packs and labels prescriptions for delivery or pickup.
• Handles cash register transactions and maintains daily deposits.
• Maintains organized work area and supports inventory tasks.
