Job summary

NHS Jobs in Massachusetts is seeking a part-time pharmacy support assistant to join our hospital team. You will assist in picking, packing and assembling medicines, handle reception queries, and support ward deliveries and sterile suite tasks as required.

Part-time hours are paid pro-rata and full details are in the job description. This role offers exposure to a busy hospital environment and opportunities to develop pharmacy support skills within our dispensary and wards.

Responsibilities

• Picking, packing and assembling medicines in stock distribution.
• Manning the reception within the dispensary and handling queries from staff and patients.
• Supplying medicines to wards and departments by means of a top-up.
• Delivery of medication to wards and departments.
• Replenishing specialist emergency boxes and duties within sterile preparation suites.

Job description

Duties are varied and may include:

• Picking, packing and assembling medicines in stock distribution.
• Pharmacy stores receiving and processing orders.
• Manning the reception within the dispensary, speaking to both staff and patients and dealing with queries.
• Supplying medicines to wards and departments by means of a top-up.
• Picking intravenous fluids.
• Duties within our sterile preparation suites.
• Delivery of medication to wards and departments.
• Replenishing specialist emergency boxes Participate in established Bank Holiday and Weekend Rotas until the introduction of 7 day working when contracted hours will be undertaken over 7 days.
