Qualifications

Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for a Pharmacy / Admixture Technician to join our team! This position will support the Dallas, TX location. The role level (1, 2, or Sr) will be based on candidate experience.

Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country, with approximately 600+ providers across 220+ sites in Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. What does the Pharmacy / Admixture Tech do?

Under the supervision of a physician or registered pharmacist, the Tech performs medication preparation, distribution, record keeping, and inventory control, supporting compliance with US Oncology standards and state laws.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with medication order preparation by compounding or admixing medications under supervision.
  • Verify all orders for completeness and proper authorization.
  • Admix drugs accurately and timely, adhering to safety and departmental guidelines.
  • Calculate dosages, converting units as needed.
  • Maintain controlled substance records according to regulations.
  • Dispose of materials per guidelines and law.
  • Perform quality assurance activities, including cleaning and checking for outdates.
  • Manage inventory, documenting quantities, lot numbers, and expiration dates.
  • Support medication use, including label prep, documentation, and order management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and compliance in the pharmacy and admixture areas.
Qualifications

Level 1: High school diploma, entry-level to 3 years pharmacy experience.

Level 2: 3-5 years pharmacy experience, IV skills preferred, certification recommended.

Level Sr: 5-7 years pharmacy experience, oncology background preferred, advanced certification recommended.
