Job summary

UCHealth seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists and care teams by collecting and validating patient home medication information with accuracy in the EHR system.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and Colorado PHAT certification (CPhT/PTCB or equivalent). Onsite schedule with day shifts and potential weekend rotations, with a structured career ladder and competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with patients to compile a list of home medications.

  • Assist in resolving patient safety issues related to medications.
  • Enter information into the patient’s EHR in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and work with minimal supervision.

Location: UCHealth Admin 2450 Peoria, Aurora, CO

Department: Pharmacy IP

Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks), 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, rotating every 4th weekend

Shift: Days

Pay: $22.14 - $28.78 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary

Provides support to pharmacists and other care team members by gathering and recording accurate information related to patients' home or prescribed medications at a proficient level.

Responsibilities
  • Interacts with patients and/or patient representatives to compile a valid list of home medications. Performs verification and clarification of information with the patient and pharmacist/care team members.
  • Communicates with retail pharmacies, ambulatory care clinics, third-party insurance, patients, and other resources to gather information and recognize knowledge of appropriate/specific drugs within scope. Maintains accuracy in data collection.
  • Assists department to accurately resolve patient safety issues related to medication use.
  • Records and submits information in the patients EHR and/or other related programs in a timely manner.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Pharmacy Technician certification from Colorado Board of Pharmacy (PHAT).
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or equivalent.
