Job description

The Pharmacy Account Consultant will provide pharmaceutical and business development support to Medica's account services, business development, and proposal teams. This includes marketing new and existing clinical strategies to control pharmacy costs, as well as a diverse pharmacy product and services portfolio. You will support the RFP/RFI process and help set retention strategies for designated existing clients to demonstrate the value of Medica pharmacy products and services while supporting implementation strategies for a seamless transition for new clients.

We're looking for candidates who are innovative and compassionate — they believe healthcare can be better and are passionate about finding new ways to influence this work. They are strong consultants: strategic, skilled at uncovering needs, and partnering with the right people to develop creative solutions. Clients, prospects, and stakeholders appreciate them for their expertise, advice, and support in making critical business decisions. Cultivating deep relationships, exhibiting executive presence, and influencing actions are opportunities that energize them. A strong understanding and ability to stay current on the pharmacy landscape to support client needs is essential.

Key Accountabilities

  • Serve as a pharmacy resource by working cross-functionally to understand Medica's pharmacy products and develop a segment-specific PBM strategy focused on value creation and retention.
  • Act as a clinical liaison and subject matter expert between PBMs, clients, prospects, internal pharmacy operations, and client experience teams.
  • Present pharmacy value propositions at broker and benefit consultant forums.
  • Support the development of sales training and marketing materials aligned with Medica's pharmacy benefit value proposition for segments like Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare, and others. Collaborate on strategies for managing drug costs and assist sales staff in selling pharmacy products and services.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining strategic sales messages for RFP/RFI responses, participate in finalist and customer presentations, and attend strategic account meetings.
  • Analyze client-specific claims data to improve healthcare outcomes and control drug spend. Translate complex clinical info into effective communications for diverse stakeholders. Collaborate with Enterprise Analytics to align reporting capabilities highlighting Medica's pharmacy financial value.
  • Work with product and market teams to develop and market pharmacy-related products and services.
  • Use industry knowledge to develop customer-centric solutions addressing pharmacy and healthcare trends impacting costs. Communicate clinical changes effectively to programs, services, and formularies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
