Job summary

Children’s Colorado is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for Medication Access to coordinate medication access, perform pharmacy technician duties under a pharmacist supervision, and support inpatient or outpatient operations.

The role requires a Colorado PHAT certification and NABP/PTCB/NHA certification, with 2 years of pharmacy tech experience and a high school diploma. Some remote work may be available after onboarding.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of pharmacy technician experience; prior authorizations preferred.
• Colorado Pharmacy Technician Certification (PHAT) and NABP/PTCB/NHA certification required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with third-party insurance, clinical staff, and patients to process prior authorization requests within timelines.
• Prepares clinical documentation for prior authorizations (notes, labs, codes, history of therapies).
• Prepares information for pharmacists to process medication refill renewals.
• Enrolls eligible patients into manufacturer patient assistance and co-pay programs.
• Provides information on insurance coverage opportunities to patients/caretakers.
• Records patient home medication history, allergies, immunizations, and diagnoses.
