Qualifications

• Requires understanding of theoretical and practical aspects of a professional discipline; formal degree or equivalent training.
• Minimum of one year of directly job-related experience.
• All University of Houston System positions are security sensitive and require a criminal history check.

Responsibilities

• Advises students on academic planning and degree completion strategies, focusing on probation and retention.
• Analyzes degree audits and recommends solutions to students.
• Identifies at-risk students and develops intervention plans.
• Participates in recruitment, advising workshops and outreach activities.
• Collaborates with faculty and departments on student issues.
• Maintains caseload of students and tracks outcomes.
• Processes Veterans Affairs paperwork and writes graduation verification letters.
• Provides financial aid appeals support and presentations at events as needed.
• Performs other job-related duties as required.
