This full-time position supports stock management, order processing, and patient care within a hospital setting.

Ideal candidates hold a PharmD (or pharmacist student status) and must obtain the Illinois Pharmacy Technician License within 60 days of hire, with certification within 2 years unless exempt.

Qualifications

• PharmD required or Pharmacist Student status acceptable.
• Illinois Pharmacy Technician License within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Answers the door and telephone.
• Assists customers with inquiries, questions and concerns.
• Checks pharmacy stock for drugs that need to be reordered.
• Completes orientation and competency assessments related to Pharmacy Technician.
• Counts cash daily and maintains a clean work area.
• Assists with preparing ice packs and hospice medications as needed.
• Monitors assigned section for outdated drugs and assists in disposal.
• Obtains Illinois Pharmacy Technician Certification within 2 years of hire (unless pharmacist student).
• Obtains Illinois Pharmacy Technician Licensure within 60 days of hire.
• Delivers mail and orders to storeroom; processes departmental paperwork.
• Processes medication orders accurately and files them upon completion.
