Job summary

Tenet Healthcare is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care across patient medication therapy, including oversight, preparation, dispensing and documentation in a hospital setting.

You will review therapies for safety and efficacy, advise the care team and physicians on drug utilization, perform order verification and medication profile reviews, and ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws.

Qualifications

• Current registered pharmacist license in the State of Florida.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• BLS within 30 days of hire; ACLS/PALS if code attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor patient medication therapy for safety and efficacy.
• Prepare, label and dispense medications per physician prescriptions.
• Provide drug information to patients and care team; ensure regulatory compliance.

The Staff Pharmacist provide pharmaceutical care services to the patients including, but not limited to oversight, monitoring, preparation, dispensing and proper documentation of patient medication therapy as well as providing drug information, patient information and oversight of information and dispensing systems. Additionally: ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations. May also advise physicians on medication utilization.

Review and monitor patient's medication therapy and orders written for safety and efficacy considering specific patient conditions and health status; advise patient care team on patient's medication therapy and document such interventions. Order verification and performing medication profile reviews that should include but not limited to checking for duplications, drug- drug and drug-food interactions, allergies, drug appropriateness, dosing, and frequency. Prepare, label, and dispense medications for patients in accordance with physicians' prescriptions; ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the dispensing of drugs and narcotics and the maintenance of required records.

Certifications:

• Preferred: Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS), CGP, etc.
