Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires BA/BS degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D and minimum of 1 year experience working as a Pharmacist in clinic and/or alternate site/home health pharmacy service.
• Current unrestricted Pharmacist license in applicable state(s) required.
• Multi-state licensure is required if services are provided in multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Maintains procedures for quality assurance, security and inventory of controlled substances.
• Ensures compliance with pharmacy laws and drug distribution.
• Engages in pharmacist prescriber consultations for pharmaceutical care.
• Answers patient questions on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage.
• Ensures stock and supplies for customer care are ordered, stored and handled efficiently.
• Leads pharmacy technicians and delivery/equipment staff.
• Implements packaging and labeling procedures per policy and laws, ensuring disposal compliance.
• Assists patient delivery in orders and infusion equipment tracking.
• May travel to different worksites as needed.

Location:

Shift:
Full time, between 7:30a-7:30p, Monday-Friday, with an on-call rotation that does includes weekends.

Onsite:
This role requires associates to work from the posted locations full-time, enabling consistent face-to-face collaboration, teamwork, and direct engagement. This policy promotes an environment built on in-person interaction, communication, and immediate support.

How you will make an impact

• Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security and inventory of controlled substances, and disposal of drugs designated as hazardous waste.
• Ensures compliance with laws governing the practice of pharmacy and distribution of drugs.
• Engages in consultation with prescriber regarding providing pharmaceutical care.
• Answers questions and provides information to patients on drug interaction, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
• Ensures that stock and supplies necessary for customer care are ordered, stored, and handled in an organized and efficient manner.
• Lead the activities of pharmacy technicians and delivery/equipment technicians.
• Plans, implements, and maintains procedures for packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements, and ensures quality, security, and proper disposal.
• Assists the patient delivery representative in orders, receiving, maintaining, and tracking all infusion related equipment.
• May be required travel to different worksite and other locations, as necessary.

Minimum Requirements

• Requires BA/BS degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D and minimum of 1 year experience working as a Pharmacist in clinic and/or alternate site/home health pharmacy service; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Current unrestricted Pharmacist license in applicable state(s) required.
• Multi-state licensure is required if this individual is providing services in multiple states.
• For Paragon and Carelon Health business unit, satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences

• PharmD preferred.
• Licensed in any of the following states: AL, AR, CA, IL, KS, KY, LA, MA, MI, MS, NE, NV, OK, OR, TN, YA, and WV.
