Job summary

Elliot Health System is seeking a Retail Pharmacist Per Diem for its retail pharmacy network in New Hampshire. You will interpret prescriptions, process prior authorization and coordinate patient access across locations including Bedford and Manchester.

Expect to counsel patients and supervise technicians in a dynamic, patient‑centered setting. Required is a PharmD from an ACPE‑accredited program and NH licensure; Board certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree from ACPE-accredited school.
• Active New Hampshire license to practice pharmacy; Board certification preferred.
• Five years of health system pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interprets, reviews and submits requests for prescription prior authorization.
• Interprets prescriptions, creates orders in the EMR, and provides next steps for patient access.
• Counsels patients and coordinates medication access and low-cost options.
• Performs quality assurance and drug utilization reviews.
• Supervises pharmacy technicians and provides education as needed.

Retail Pharmacist Per Diem – Retail Pharmacy – May cover at any of the Retail Pharmacy locations (Bedford, Manchester). Pharmacy hours are Monday-Friday 7 am to 7 pm and Saturdays 8:30am - 5pm, closed on Sunday.

About the Job

Provides centralized medication access support for Elliot Health System patients.

What You’ll Do

• Interprets, reviews and submits requests for prescription prior authorization.
• Interprets physicians’ prescriptions and creates orders, accesses, inputs and retrieves prescription information from the electronic medical record and provides next steps for patient access.
• Consults with patients, physicians and clinic office staff regarding access to and use of medications.
• Conducts quality assurance and drug utilization reviews.
• Follows clinical guidelines set by medical staff and evaluate patient history in making clinical decisions.
• Coordinates medication patient assistance programs and low-cost alternatives for patients.
• Provides medication counseling to patients.
• Provides In-service education and other educational services upon request to Elliot Physician Practices, staff and patients.
• Responsible for the direct supervision and oversight of pharmacy technicians.

What You’ll Need

Education:Degree in Pharmacy from an institution accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education.

Experience:Five years of previous health system pharmacy experience preferred.

Certification/Licensure:Current New Hampshire license to practice Pharmacy; Board Certification preferred.
