Job summary

Elliot Health System is seeking a per diem Retail Pharmacist to support the Elliot Retail Pharmacy locations in New Hampshire, including Manchester and Bedford. The role involves patient access, medication counseling, and collaboration with physicians and staff.

Hours vary by pharmacy, typically Monday–Friday 7 am–7 pm and Saturdays 8:30 am–5 pm; Sundays closed. Per diem status offers flexibility and ongoing clinical education opportunities within a respected health system.

Qualifications

• Degree in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited institution.
• Current NH license to practice Pharmacy; Board Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interprets, reviews and submits requests for prescription prior authorization.
• Interprets physicians’ prescriptions and creates orders, accesses, inputs and retrieves prescription information from the EMR and provides next steps for patient access.
• Consults with patients, physicians and clinic staff regarding access to and use of medications.
• Conducts quality assurance and drug utilization reviews.
• Follows clinical guidelines set by medical staff and evaluates patient history in making clinical decisions.
• Coordinates medication patient assistance programs and low-cost alternatives for patients.
• Provides medication counseling to patients.
• Provides in-service education and other educational services upon request to Elliot Physician Practices, staff and patients.
• Responsible for the direct supervision and oversight of pharmacy technicians.
