Job Description

The Cedars-Sinai Angeles Clinic & Research Institute has established an international reputation for developing new cancer therapies, providing the best in experimental and traditional treatments, and expertly guiding and training the next generation of clinicians. We are committed to bringing innovative therapeutic options to all patients with cancer. Our board-certified fellowship-trained medical oncologists, surgeons, immunotherapists, pathologists, and dermatologists work closely together to advance cancer care.

Responsibilities
  1. Identify, resolve, and prevent potential and actual medication-related problems including untreated indications, improper drug selection, sub-therapeutic dosage, overdosage, failure to receive medication, adverse drug reactions, drug interactions, and medications without indication.
  2. Provide patients and healthcare providers with education on medication use, side effects, and drug interactions when appropriate.
  3. Communicate with physicians and pharmacists to recommend changes in medication therapy to optimize patient outcomes.
  4. Meet or exceed competency assessments and review standards.
  5. Precept students and residents.
  6. Participate in protocol development and updates.
  7. Support departmental initiatives and projects.
  8. Train other pharmacists and pharmacy support staff, serving as a champion for competency assessments.
  9. Assist with medication prior authorizations as needed.
  10. Document patient progress and outcomes for reporting.
  11. Ensure ongoing performance improvement of pharmaceutical care services.
  12. Educate physicians through presentations and internal newsletters.
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • California Pharmacist license
  • BLS certification within 180 days
  • Research experience and knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to manage clinical trial drugs and monitor adverse events
  • Physical ability to perform job tasks as described

  • Salary Range: $65.10 - $104.16 per hour
