An established industry player is looking for a licensed Pharmacist for a dynamic contract-to-hire opportunity in a hospital research setting. This role involves preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing pharmacological guidance to healthcare professionals. We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist for a 13+ week contract-to-hire opportunity in a hospital research setting in New York, NY. IV and cleanroom experience is required.
Schedule:
Full Time: Monday Friday, 8:30 AM 5:00 PM
Part Time: Monday Friday, 8:30 AM 1:00 PM
Responsibilities:
Prepare and dispense medications, including investigational and standard-of-care drugs, by interpreting physician orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
Compound, package, label, and verify pharmaceutical products.
Monitor drug therapies and advise on interventions.
Supervise pharmacy technicians; verify preparation, labeling, order entries, and inspection tasks.
Provide pharmacological guidance to healthcare professionals and research staff.
Participate in clinical research meetings and support staff pharmacological education.
Ensure compliance with NYSBP, TJC, NYDOH, DEA, FDA, NIH, and other applicable regulations.
Maintain records for controlled substances, drug inventories, research protocols, and sterile product preparation.
Adhere to aseptic techniques and cleanroom maintenance procedures.
Collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
System/Software:
Experience with EHR systems such as Cerner or EPIC
Familiarity with automated drug dispensing systems
Requirements:
Active NY Pharmacist license in good standing
Minimum of 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience
Experience preparing IVs and working in a cleanroom setting
Proficiency with EHR systems (Cerner or EPIC)
Previous research experience preferred but not required
Ability to independently follow and interpret clinical trial protocols
Experience handling and dispensing controlled substances
Preferred:
BCSCP certification or willingness to obtain
Strong written communication and procedural documentation skills
Familiarity with hospital-based drug inventory systems and order set building
