Qualifications

We are seeking a PRN Pharmacist to join our team!

Hospital Details

Vibra Hospital of SE Michigan - DMC Campus, located in Detroit, MI is a 28 bed Critical Care Hospital providing acute care services to patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. Often our patients require additional critical care services for medically complex conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, wound healing, cardiovascular disease, stroke, amputation and ventilator weaning. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we offer an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and friendly work environment where you really get to know your patients and their families.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the filling and dispensing of medication orders, including the proper handling, usage and storage of drugs in the Pharmacy. Maintain standards set forth by the department and translate policies and procedures into daily operations. Responsible for acting as an information resource to patients, physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy and drug-related information and literature. Provides a coordination effort, in conjunction with the medical staff and nursing, in the delivery of quality and cost-effective drug therapies to patients. Participates in the hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Program with a focus on patient safety and public health. Demonstrates a competency to provide pharmaceutical care to patients of all relevant age groups. Provides leadership in the absence of the Director as assigned.

Required Skills:

1. Bachelor of Science Degree from a College/School of Pharmacy required.
2. Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Pharmacist in the state of employment required.

Additional Qualifications/Skills:

1. Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.
2. Experience with pharmacokinetics and anticoagulation preferred.
3. TPN experience preferred.
4. Current, valid and active BLS and ACLS certifications from a Vibra-approved vendor preferred. Previous acute care experienced preferred.
5. Automated pharmacy dispensing. IV Laminar flow hood.
6. Electronic medical records experienced preferred. Ability to project a professional image.
7. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
8. Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
9. Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
