Job summary

Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas is seeking a Pharmacist to help ensure the safe and effective use of medications, support patient care, and collaborate with nurses and physicians to optimize drug therapy.

You will provide medication information, assist with pharmacokinetics and dose adjustments, monitor therapies, and have opportunities to assist in training new pharmacists, students, and technicians.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree from ACPE-accredited school
• Active pharmacist license in good standing
• One year of acute care hospital experience

Responsibilities

• Interact daily with pharmacy, nursing and medical staff to resolve drug therapy issues
• Provide medication information and monitor pharmacokinetics, dose adjustments and lab orders
• Participate in training of new pharmacists, pharmacy students and technicians

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Pharmacist, your work plays an important role in the care of patients and healthcare providers by assuring the safe and effective use of medications as needed. The Clinical Pharmacist monitors and evaluates prescribed therapies to promote optimal drug use and evidence-based practices to reduce risks of drug misadventures. We have an amazing team.

• You will interact daily with your pharmacy team, nurses, physicians, and other facility staff in the hospital and intervene in conflicts between the Pharmacy and medical staff regarding drug therapy issue resolutions that may arise.
• You will provide medication information and consultation on pharmacokinetics, dose adjustments, orders laboratory tests, and medication monitoring according to established policies and procedures
• You will have the opportunity to participate in the training of new pharmacists, pharmacy students, and technicians

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor of Science or Doctorate in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
• Active pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy
• One year of acute care hospital experience required
