Job summary

Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas seeks a Pharmacist to ensure the safe and effective use of medications for patients. You will collaborate with pharmacy, nursing, and medical staff to optimize therapies and reduce risks.

The role requires a PharmD/BS in Pharmacy from ACPE, an active state license, and at least one year of acute care hospital experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Interact daily with pharmacy team, nurses, physicians, and other staff to resolve drug therapy issues.
  • Provide medication information and consultation on pharmacokinetics, dose adjustments, orders tests, and monitoring per policy.
  • Opportunity to participate in the training of new pharmacists, pharmacy students, and technicians.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Pharmacist, your work plays an important role in the care of patients and healthcare providers by assuring the safe and effective use of medications as needed. The Clinical Pharmacist monitors and evaluates prescribed therapies to promote optimal drug use and evidence-based practices to reduce risks of drug misadventures. We have an amazing team.

  • You will interact daily with your pharmacy team, nurses, physicians, and other facility staff in the hospital and intervene in conflicts between the Pharmacy and medical staff regarding drug therapy issue resolutions that may arise.
  • You will provide medication information and consultation on pharmacokinetics, dose adjustments, orders laboratory tests, and medication monitoring according to established policies and procedures
  • You will have the opportunity to participate in the training of new pharmacists, pharmacy students, and technicians
What qualifications you will need:
  • Bachelor of Science or Doctorate in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy
  • One year of acute care hospital experience required
