Job summary

Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join our hospital pharmacy team. You will interact with patients and the care team, dispense medications, and ensure high-quality medication management according to professional standards.

You will also transcribe orders, provide drug information, advocate for patients, and supervise technical staff. A pharmacy degree and active license with at least 1 year of experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Pharmacist licensed or eligible to practice.
  • Bachelor's degree or Doctorate in Pharmacy.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with patients, families, and health care teams while maintaining professional standards.
  • Provide prescribed medications and related supplies for patient care.
  • Compound and dispense medications and perform related duties.
  • Transcribe physician prescriptions into the CPCS system to generate medication labels.
  • Serve as a drug information resource for patients and staff.
  • Act as a patient therapeutic advocate with a focus on quality improvement of pharmacy services.
  • Supervise technical staff.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a highly-skilled and compassionate Clinical Pharmacist you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact as an integral part of our hospital pharmacy team. The members of this team consider themselves a family where each member works hard to support each other. We are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. In this role:

  • You will interact with patients, their significant others, and health care team members while maintaining professional standards in serving patients of all ages.
  • You will provide prescribed medications, drugs, and other supplies as needed for appropriate patient care according to professional standards and practices.
  • You will compound and dispense prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals for patient care by performing the related duties.
  • You will transcribe physician prescriptions and medication orders into the CPCS system to generate a label for medication distribution.
  • You will act as a drug information resource to patients, medical staff, nursing staff, and ancillary department personnel.
  • You will serve as a patient therapeutic advocate with efforts directed toward continuous quality improvement of pharmacy services.
  • Supervision of technical staff.

What qualifications you will need:
