Job summary

CommUnityCare in Austin seeks a pharmacist-level operations specialist to support Class D pharmacy operations, floor stock, vaccines, and centralized warehouse services under the Pharmacist in Charge.

You will collaborate with nurses, technicians, and care teams, conduct inspections, assist with formulary development, ensure regulatory compliance, and help optimize warehouse software like CAMIT and EPIC.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred.
  • 3 years of Class D pharmacy experience (retail, mail order, hospital, or clinic) required.
  • Registered Pharmacist in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Current CPR certification as required by employment.
  • Texas Class C Driver's License with liability insurance for work vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Provides pharmacist-level operational guidance to staff on pharmacy processes and Class D operations.
  • Performs monthly onsite visits/inspections to ensure policy compliance across clinics.
  • Assists with formulary development and supports regulatory inspections and accreditation readiness.
  • Supports training, onboarding, and consistency for the Pharmacy Warehouse team.

Overview

In collaboration with clinical staff across all disciplines and departments, this position provides pharmacist-level operational and compliance support for Class D pharmacy operations, floor stock medication areas, private vaccines, sample medications, and centralized warehouse services/operations under the direction of the Pharmacist in Charge.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

Provides pharmacist-level operational guidance and support to supportive personnel, including registered nurses,licensed vocational nurses, physician assistants, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy technician trainees, and medicalassistants, related to pharmacy processes and Class D pharmacy operationsMonthly onsite visits/inspections of Class D pharmacies for CommUnityCare and City of Austin to ensure the clinicsare following set policies and proceduresAssist with development of a formulary for the clinics, in conjunction with the Class D Pharmacist in Charge andPharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, consisting of drugs and/or devices needed to meet the objectives of theclinicsMaintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and proceduresAssists with supporting legal operation of the pharmacy, including meeting all inspection and other requirements ofall state and federal laws or sections governing the practice of pharmacySupports training, competency, onboarding, and workflow consistency for the Pharmacy Warehouse team underthe direction of the Pharmacist in ChargeAssists the Class D Pharmacist in Charge with coordinating Pharmacy Warehouse services, workflow, and coverageto support efficient operationsContributes to the enhancement and optimization of Pharmacy Warehouse software and related technology, suchas CAMIT and EPICHelps with the reporting, monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating processes and outcomes for continuousimprovement of the Pharmacy Warehouse team as assignedProvides operational feedback to the Class D Pharmacist in Charge regarding Pharmacy Warehouse workflow,training needs, and team performance observations, as requestedCollaborates with other leaders to maintain a team-oriented approach to clinic stock medication managementServes as a representative for the Pharmacy Warehouse within CUC multidisciplinary committees as assignedProvides day-to-day operational guidance and supports team engagement within the Pharmacy WarehouseServes as a champion for initiatives that enhance pharmacy warehouse operations and improve the quality ofpatient access to clinic stock medicationsAids with ensuring tasks associated with medication access, clinic stock medication processes, pharmacyadministrative processes, and related duties comply with regulatory and accreditation standards including TheJoint Commission and CommUnityCare Standard Operating Procedures and CommUnityCare Policies andProceduresDevelops and maintains favorable internal relationships, partnerships with team members, including clinicalmanagers, clinical support staff, providers and business office staffSupports, leads, and models the vision, mission, and values of CUCSpecial projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree (higher degree accepted) in Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) -RequiredDoctoral or Professional Degree Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) -Preferred

Work Experience:

3 years either retail (community), mail order, hospital, or clinic (Class D) pharmacy -Required3 years Class D pharmacy experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

Registered Pharmacist in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy -Required

Current Health Care Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through American Heart Association or Will be required to maintain a current CPR certification during employment. -Required

Texas Class "C" Driver's License with Proof of automobile liability insurance coverage on personal vehicle utilized for work related purposes. -Required
