Job summary

The Valley Hospital in Paramus, NJ is seeking a pharmacist to assume primary responsibility for clinical and distributive pharmaceutical services within our hospital setting. The successful candidate will hold a B.S.

or PharmD in Pharmacy and a New Jersey Pharmacist license, with one year of hospital pharmacy experience preferred. The role includes patient care duties, safety, and collaboration with health-system staff, on a night shift.

Position Summary To accept primary responsibility for the provision of clinical and distributive pharmaceutical services.

Education

B.S. or PharmD. in Pharmacy, New Jersey Pharmacist license.

Experience

One year experience in hospital pharmacy preferred. Basic knowledge and experience with unit dose dispensing system and i.v. admixture programs.

Skills

• Basic understanding of computer operation.
• A general knowledge of clinical pharmacy skills and drug information practices.

Abilities

• Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods.
• Ability to work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff.
• Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
• Ability to set priorities and solve problems.
• Ability to respond quickly to emergency requests.
• Effective communication skills (orally and in writing).
• Ability to assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
