Job summary

Watsonvillehospital is seeking a staff pharmacist to ensure accurate, age-appropriate and timely preparation of all medication orders. The pharmacist will supervise pharmacy technicians and externs and help coordinate day-to-day operations in a busy hospital pharmacy.

You will provide drug information and education to patients, medical staff, nursing staff, and other health care professionals, and work under the director of pharmacy. CA licensure is required; Pharm.D. or MS preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from College of Pharmacy; Pharm.D. or MS preferred.
• CA licensure as Registered Pharmacist.
• Hospital pharmacy experience or ASHP residency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate, age-appropriate, timely preparation of all medication orders.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians including externs.
• Provide drug information and education to patients, medical staff, nursing staff, and other health care professionals.
• Facilitate day-to-day operations under written policies and procedures.

Salary Range: $80.00 To $94.00 Hourly

Position Summary

The pharmacist is responsible for the supervision of pharmacy technicians, including externs. The pharmacist facilitates the day to day operations. The pharmacist will perform specific clinical functions in accordance with written policies and procedures. The pharmacist will provide drug information and/or education to patients, medical staff, nursing staff, and other health care professionals, as requested. This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy.

Education

• Graduate from College of Pharmacy, Advanced Degree in Pharmacy (Pharm.D. or M.S.) preferred.

Experience

• Minimum one year experience in a hospital pharmacy and/or completion of ASHP accredited Residency Program preferred.

Licenses and/or Certifications

• Current CA Licensure as Registered Pharmacist.
