Job summary

UF Health Shands Hospital is seeking a Clinical Staff Pharmacist – Pediatric Satellite (0.75 FTE) for a primarily day shift with rotating weekends. The role includes staffing in the pediatric satellite and cross-training in other areas.

There is on-call staffing, disaster team assignments, holiday blocks, and occasional night shift pull lists. The position averages about 60 hours per two-week pay period and is not a 7-on/7-off schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy.
• PharmD or equivalent education and hospital training/experience.
• PGY1 residency preferred; PGY2 residency highly preferred.
• Two years pharmacy experience in an organized health care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical pharmacy services within the Pediatric Satellite and hospital operations.
• Staff pediatric satellite with cross-training in other areas.
• Participate in on-call staffing, disaster team, holiday blocks and night shift pull lists.
• Maintain accurate documentation and pursue opportunities for education and research activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care in pediatrics.

Clinical Staff Pharmacist – Pediatric Satellite (0.75 FTE, Primarily day shift with rotating weekends)

• Day shift: 6:20 am - 2:30 pm primarily
• Primary staffing in the pediatric satellite (cross-training in other areas included)
• Rotating weekend commitment
• Includes on-call staffing, disaster team assignment, holiday block assignment,
• and night shift pull list
• Average of 60 hours per two-week pay period
• Note: This is not a 7-on/7-off position

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy.
• PharmD or equivalent education and hospital training / experience.
• PGY1 residency preferred. PGY2 residency highly preferred.
• Two years pharmacy experience in an organized health care setting preferred.

In addition: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to interact with supervisors, peers, support personnel and students. Demonstrated understanding of general hospital and ambulatory operations. Demonstrated ability to integrate clinical services, education and research activities.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Registered pharmacist in Florida or eligible for same.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation

As a condition of employment within the Pharmacy Services Department of Shands Hospital all employees must be accessible by telephone. This requires each employee to provide a valid telephone number to the department Staff Assistant, in order for the department to reach them in the event of hospital need and/or emergency.
