Job summary

St. John’s Community Health is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to lead the centralized pharmacy and distributed dispensaries across eight SoCal locations.

The role reports to the Pharmacy Director and works closely with clinic leadership to ensure efficient workflows, accurate medication handling, and patient education. The Staff Pharmacist will supervise technicians and clerks, manage inventory, verify orders, and ensure compliance with 340B and HRSA rules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy
• Experience with pharmacy management systems
• Licensed Pharmacist in California

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation of centralized pharmacy and dispensary locations.
• Provide training and supervision to Pharmacy Technicians, Clerks, and PAP Clerks.
• Maintain prescription drug, biological, and non-prescription inventory at established levels.
• Enter prescription orders into the pharmacy software systems.
• Make decisions regarding generic substitutions and fill prescriptions per protocols.
• Perform Quality Assurance on filled prescription orders.
• Counsel patients on new prescriptions and provide educational materials.
• Collaborate with Clinic Directors to ensure secure drug storage and compliance with applicable regulations.
