A healthcare institution located in Kansas is seeking an Oncology Clinical Pharmacist to provide specialized pharmaceutical care to oncology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The successful candidate will focus on optimizing antineoplastic therapy, ensure medication safety, and support regulatory compliance while collaborating with an interdisciplinary oncology team. The role requires a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and experience in oncology pharmacy; a Kansas pharmacist license is also mandatory.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy required.
• ASHP-accredited PGY-1 residency or equivalent clinical experience required; PGY-2 Oncology residency preferred.
• One year of direct oncology pharmacy experience in an inpatient oncology, outpatient infusion, or ambulatory oncology setting preferred.
• One year of direct oncology pharmacy experience in inpatient/outpatient settings preferred.

Job description

Under the direction of the Pharmacy Director, the Oncology Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for providing specialized, evidence-based pharmaceutical care to oncology patients across inpatient and outpatient settings. This role focuses on optimizing antineoplastic therapy, ensuring medication safety, supporting regulatory compliance, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary oncology team to improve clinical outcomes and patient experience.

Position Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy required.

ASHP-accredited PGY-1 residency or equivalent clinical experience required; PGY-2 Oncology residency preferred.

Experience with chemotherapy order review, oncology treatment protocols, and hazardous drug handling.

One year of direct oncology pharmacy experience in an inpatient oncology, outpatient infusion, or ambulatory oncology setting preferred.

Required Registration/License/Certification

Current Kansas pharmacist license or eligible for Kansas license and must obtain within 90 days of hire.

Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) within 2 years of hire.
