Northwest Texas Healthcare System is seeking a Pharmacist to deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical care, counsel patients, and supervise staff across hospital pharmacy operations in Amarillo, TX. The role emphasizes patient education and accurate drug therapy management.

The position requires Texas licensure or eligibility, and 0–2 years of hospital pharmacy experience is preferred. CPR certification is required within 60 days of hire, with PALS/ACLS recommended for satellite units.

Qualifications

• Licensed by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for licensure within 120 days of hire.
• 0-2 years experience in hospital pharmacy; prior hospital experience preferred.
• Demonstrates high level of organizational skills.
• Demonstrates independent functioning.
• CPR certification within 60 days; PALS/ACLS recommended for Pediatric/Adult satellite pharmacies.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care through drug distribution, patient counseling and teaching.
• Fill medication orders, monitor therapies and provide drug information.
• Supervise and direct supportive staff; take on Director of Pharmacy duties in absence of Pharmacy Management.

Position: Pharmacist

POSITION SUMMARY:

Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution, patient counseling and teaching. Pharmacists fill orders for medications, monitor patient's drug therapies, and provide drug information. Pharmacist supervises and directs supportive staff. In the absence of Pharmacy Management, a Pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the Director of Pharmacy.

Qualifications

Education, Training, Experience and Licenses/Registrations Required:

1. Licensed by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, or eligible for Texas licensure, to be completed within 120 days of hire.

7. Ability to work independently and handle stress appropriately. Ability to work cooperatively with hospital and pharmacy staff. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions and respond quickly to emergency requests.
