Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist the pharmacy team under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

You will help prepare and distribute medications, maintain drug inventory, and support record keeping while adhering to state and federal regulations. A Texas pharmacy license registration and 0-2 years hospital experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy prior to start of employment.
• 0-2 years experience in pharmacy services; hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Demonstrates high level of organizational skills.
• Demonstrates independent functioning.
• High school graduate or equivalency.

Position: Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy Technicians, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department. Pharmacy Technicians assist the pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and maintenance of records. Pharmacy Technicians function in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines and state and federal regulations. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.
