Job summary

Job Summary

The Lead Pharmacist is the permit holder of the pharmacy operation's license and has primary responsibility for effective management of an individual pharmacy operation (e.g., satellite, clinic). Lead pharmacists collaborate with physicians, nurses, other healthcare providers and patients to strategize individualized therapies, optimize outcomes through innovation, and apply evidence‑based standards of care. They interpret prescription orders, evaluate their appropriateness, and are responsible for the accuracy and safety of prescribed pharmaceuticals. Lead pharmacists communicate drug information to customers, train pharmacy staff, provide pharmaceutical care, and educate patients.

Qualifications

• Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
• Preferred Education: Pharm.D. degree
• Required License: An active license to practice in North Carolina, or eligibility to become licensed in North Carolina within 60 days
• Preferred Experience: Previous community or retail pharmacy management experience
